The result from the Sale FC v Cambridge fixture was Caldy's last hope but the news that came through from Heywood Road was not in the Ravers' favour as Cambridge got the result they needed to remain in the league, and condemn Caldy to relegation.

The site has now been demolished to make way for the new Empire cinema, but, during the 1990s, it was a haven for ravers, before it burned to the ground.

Lady Alice called on landowners Forestry Commission Wales to patrol the site more frequently to keep away ravers, who she believes come from Liverpool and Manchester.

They are now charging hundreds of ravers pounds 5 a head to attend all night parties there.
