"Himayat, Chief of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba's Maharashtra wing was arrested from Pune last night while the other accused Bilal was arrested from Nashik," said Maharashtra's ATS Chief, Rakesh Maria during a news conference held here on Wednesday.

"None of us, least of all the two nations, can afford to see groups with global terrorist ambitions like the Lashkar-e-Tayyaba continue unchecked," he said.

Pakistan's state-run Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) had reported that Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, the former head of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba, a militant group fighting Indian rule in the disputed Kashmir region, was arrested Sunday for making an inflammatory speech.

Islamabad, Jul 28 (ANI): The US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, Admiral Mike Mullen, has said that Washington remained concerned over Pakistani intelligence agency ISI's alleged links with Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (LeT) and the Haqqani network.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Aziz Ahmad Khan told reporters that Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, the former head of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba, a militant group fighting Indian rule in disputed Kashmir, was arrested Sunday in Lahore for disturbing peace, making inflammatory speeches and displaying arms in violation of a government ban.

In an interview to a private television channel, Malik reiterated that Islamabad has taken substantial action against Lashkar-e-Tayyaba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the November 2008 Mumbai attacks, however, it was the judiciary which declared him free.

She said the list of criminals include the leaders of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba and Jaish-e-Mohammad, the two militant groups that New Delhi says are responsible for the Dec.

"It is about time that the so-called assets of the state like the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Tayyaba are disbanded and crushed," the editorial said.

Mahmood told Kyodo News that the report was not true and the Pakistani government has no plans to ban Jaish-e-Mohammad or Lashkar-e-Tayyaba until India shares the evidence about their alleged terrorist operations.
