Dubai: Performing
Haj will be more expensive for Pakistanis from this year as the government has abolished the subsidy given to pilgrims in previous years.
Furthermore, Naqvi said that news reports suggesting that the
Haj Act has been modified are "baseless".
Furthermore, under the current scheme, Pakistanis who have performed
Haj under the government scheme in the past are not eligible to apply irrespective of the period/year in which they performed
Haj.
The Omani
Haj mission comprised a number of delegations including the guidance and Ifta delegation, the medical delegation, the administrative delegation, the financial delegation, the media and scouts delegation, and ROP delegation, among others.
Naqvi's comments come while addressing the orientation-cum training camp held for
Haj pilgrims in Delhi on Saturday.
This year, those Islamic dates correspond to October 22-23 when departing for
Haj and October 29-30 when returning to the UAE while Eid Al Adha falls on October 26.
Once in a lifetime, it is an obligation and ultimate desire of every Muslim men and women to perform
Haj. It is the best act of worship.
This will provide enough opportunities for all the concerned agencies to make preparations well in advance so that world class facilities to the
Haj pilgrims are ensured.
"We have noted that some
Haj operators ask applicants for money as fees for
Haj visas," Abdul Aziz Al Fayez said.
