The reaffirmation follows DHFL's announcement that it will acquire Deutsche Postbank Home Finance Ltd (DPHFL; rated 'P1+' by CRISIL).

"There have been discussions for stake sale by the promoters to a strategic partner with further equity infusion," DHFL informed stock exchanges in regulatory filings late on Monday night after a marathon board meeting.

Prudential Financial Inc (PFI) has said that it has increased its stake in the life insurance joint venture, DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance (DPLI) Company, based in India.

Avanse Education Loans, a new age education finance company is an Associate Company of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Limited (DHFL), India's second largest private housing finance company.

The plant of DHFL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dawood Hercules Corporation Ltd.

The buyout is being mainly funded by Tier II capital issuance by DHFL. DHFL's gearing post the aforesaid transaction is expected to be higher than the present levels.

Among Moody's-rated banks, private sector lender Yes Bank will be the most affected given its significant exposure to DHFL bonds.

DHFL said, "The NCD public issue committee of the board at its meeting held on Monday...Approved the allotment of 10,94,47,863 secured redeemable non-convertible debentures having face value of Rs 1,000 each aggregating up to Rs 10,94,478.63 lakh to the respective successful applicants in various series under the four different categories."

DHFL Pramerica Asset Managers, which commenced its joint venture partnership in India in August 2015, is a 50:50 joint venture between Prudential Financial Inc and Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Limited.
