Francisco Soberon, director of the Asociacion Pro Derechos Humanos (APRODEH), said that the complaint includes video footage of Villa Stein's behavior during the oral trial and various statements in recent years in which he never showed any fairness toward the victims.

(25.) One example of a cooperative effort in this area is the case against Peru brought before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights by APRODEH, CEJIL, CRLP and CLADEM over forced sterilizations that occurred under the Fujimori government.

"Not only were those who sterilized women given awards, they were also obliged each month to report a minimum number of people who were sterilized," said Gloria Cano, a lawyer with the Asociacion Pro Derechos Humanos (APRODEH).

A collective of individuals committed to the struggle for full implementation of human rights in Peru, APRODEH began in 1983 as an initiative to support parliamentary work in response to the growing violation of human rights in the context of the domestic war.
