Description
Since 1995, Winning Thoughts have appeared in Braille in art. Originally, Braille messages were used to inspire and make fine art accessible to anyone with reduced vision. Special visual and tactile features were added to create images that could be recognized by touch as well as by eyes that may have experienced changes in vision due to injury, illness, or aging. Yet, to look at these paintings from a distance one might not notice they were enhanced. It is only when you are close enough to see "details" that one realizes that these paintings have a different sense of purpose.
The techniques that have been successful in making art more visible have been used in the creation of Winning Thoughts® Greeting Cards. Our specialized cards contain Braille, visual aids, and feature reproductions from Braille art paintings. They also have an added feature of larger print.
- Part of the proceeds from the sale of these cards will be donated to organizations for the blind in the country of purchase.
