Since 2002, the company is expanding its marketing operations to the East Coast under the Valero brand name. In 2005, Valero emerged as the largest U.S. refiner by purchasing Premcor Inc. for $6.9 billion. Following this, Valero took solid steps to convert Diamond Shamrock stations to the Valero brand.
