SOLutions in Solar Electricity is owned and operated by Fran Orner and Joel Davidson. We have combined over 45 years of PV experience. Fran learned engineering while working summers during college, has many years of bio-medical research and teaching experience, over 20 years of PV system design and installation experience and illustrated The New Solar Electric Home.
Joel has worked over 25 years in the PV industry; had the first PV home in Arkansas, the first solar office in Los Angeles, wrote The New Solar Electric Home book, set the first solar vehicle Guinness World Record, had the first California buydown rebate PV system, designed and installed megawatts of PV, managed 2 solar factories, has over 40 years of building design, construction, electronic and electrical engineering experience, was a teacher, farmer, etc.
In 1979, Joel organized the first bulk buy to get a quantity discount on PV modules. In 1984, Fran started helping with the Bulk Buys. In 1998, we started this web site. We no longer have to organize bulk buys because we get special pricing thanks to our long-term relationship with PV manufacturers and distributors. We pass this special pricing on to you so that you save money.
