Recombinant Capital (Recap) is a San Francisco Bay Area-based consulting firm specializing in biotechnology alliances, earned alliance revenues, product sales, employment agreements, company information and capitalization. Recap was founded in 1988 by Mark Edwards. Prior to founding Recap, Mr. Edwards was manager of business development at Chiron. Mr. Edwards has a bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA, both from Stanford University.
Recap's mission is to ensure availability of adequate resources for biotechnology enterprises by providing comprehensive and timely advice and analysis related to the environment for corporate and product development and alliance formation. Recap's clients include biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, plus several universities, investment banking and venture firms active in the biotechnology area. More than 1,500 organizations have subscribed to Recap's data services.
Recap earned its reputation in the biotech industry by building the some of the largest and most detailed biotech business intelligence databases in the world. Nine databases, including Alliances, Valuations, and Clinical Trial are available at our two web sites, Recap.com and rDNA.com.
