Description
Laura gained much of her appreciation for nature from her father, a wildlife enthusiast and amateur naturalist. She began painting and drawing at an early age and spent many summers during those formative years exploring the mountains of Pennsylvania and camping with her family in the Canadian wilderness.
In 1985 she began to pursue art on a full-time basis and to paint what she loved best...The animals of the forest. Since that time, Laura has won a number of awards and gained extensive recognition for her realistic portrayal of wildlife.
Laura has won the Pennsylvania State Conservation Print Competition three times. (1991, 1997, 1999), won the overall Best Of Show award at the 1999 Natureworks show in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was the 1998 Featured Artist at the National Wildlife Art Show in Kansas City and was the Featured Artist in the May/June, 1998 Issue of Wildlife Art News Magazine.
