ImprintsUSA ONE-STOP SHOPPING approach makes it easy for garment decorators to offer sublimation printing services to their customers. It sells not only the computerized printing hardware (as well as complete computer systems), but sublimation-printer ribbons and specialized transfer paper as well. The company also offers thorough training to its customers, and inventories a host of blank goods like mugs, mouse pads, coasters and plaques, just to mention a few. "We want the customer to make one phone call," says Jon Joseph, the head of the ImprintsUSA organization. Of course, the computerized printer is the heart of the sublimation system. So, ImprintsUSA has established an annual preventive-maintenance program for the equipment that it sells which includes both Seiko and Epson Stylus sublimation printers. And, in the unlikely event that a printer malfunctions unexpectedly, ImprintsUSAallows its customers to bypass the typical delays associated with waiting for a manufacturer's tech to arrive. Instead, customers can send a problematic printer to ImprintsUSA' own facility (it's a manufacturer-authorized repair house) which will take care of any repairs or modifications. In the interim ImprintsUSA will send a replacement loaner printer so that as few production hours as possible are lost. For minor hardware glitches or software difficulties, ImprintsUSAemploys a full-time technical-support staff, which will walk users through the solution over the phone.
