I Like Music was founded in 2000 and launched in 2001 as an independent voice in an industry saturated by big corporations. The site was launched by a small team of young people who like music, for others who like music.
It’s been tough and demanding, but now, in its 5th successful year online, I Like Music includes a range of artist interviews, from 50 Cent, Alicia Keys and James Blunt to Lady Sovereign, Killa Kela and DJ Format, plus a broad collection of cross genre music content covering Pop, Hiphop, Rock, Dance, Indie and Urban. We also run up to date news, features, competitions and live reviews; offer readers a comprehensive range of gig/tour/ticket listings, plus a bookshelf and sections on making music and music careers.
What’s more, I Like Music supports up-and-coming unsigned artists alongside mainstream well-known ones. The site acts as a reliable service to the music industry and as a promotional platform for artists and promoters alike, while continuing to be a top-notch online music magazine for I Like Music readers – the music-consuming public. The site also has a unique editorial policy (see below).
