Frank Soukup Jr., founder of Emerald Lawns, Inc., started in the irrigation industry back in 1971 when sprinklers were a sideline. In 1977, he moved with his family to Park Rapids where he worked with Center Pivot Irrigation, well drilling and lawn sprinkler systems. In 1984, Frank and his wife Barb started Emerald Lawns customizing the underground lawn sprinkler industry. Incorporating in 1990, they went on to open a branch office in Brainerd where their oldest son, Ron Soukup manages. Today Emerald Lawns, Inc. is the oldest and largest Toro contractor in Northern and Central Minnesota.
