His primary expertise is in the field of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery with a specialization in surgical techniques for the improvement in the appearance of the face, breast, and body.

Dr. Stevens is recognized for the introduction and application of a variety of innovations in plastic surgery to the Central Valley of California. His pioneering techniques include laser skin resurfacing and laser facial surgical procedures such as endoscopic surgery of the face, abdomen and breast, and ultrasound assisted liposuction. His work has also included procedures such as the minimal incision underarm approach to breast augmentation with saline implants, facial rejuvenation procedures combining the facelift with laser and the Obagi Blue Peel techniques, and also "own tissue" breast reconstruction (including microsurgical techniques).

Dr. Stevens has traveled and lectured extensively on plastic surgery and has presented his techniques in a variety of forums to both physicians and the public. He has recently taught all-day seminars on skin health restoration, chemical peels, and laser skin resurfacing to other physicians and nurses in Los Angeles, San Francisco and in Atlanta. He traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in December of 1996 to teach and perform advanced laser and plastic surgery techniques. He is currently involved in ongoing research projects in facial skin response to laser treatments, effect of combinations of facelift and chemical peeling techniques, and analysis of the results of an extensive series of endoscopic breast augmentation procedures.
