Aussie Things is owned and run by Mark and Michelle Jansen. It began in 1997 as an idea by Michelle who wanted to sell products of an Australian theme to the world. But Michelle wasn't happy with 'any ole product'. She wanted to sell good quality products that were well made and that captured the essence of Australia. Where possible, the products had to be Australian made - something that is becoming increasingly hard to find. We do not manufacture. We source our products from middle-persons. We do not wholesale.
Michelle also used the Aussie Things store to actively learn about the Internet and how to do business with it. She also runs a consulting business in electronic commerce and is able to take many of the experiences as a small business operator on the Internet to her clients. As such, Aussie Things is a division of their company Cybecom Pty Ltd.
Both Mark and Michelle spend time using eBay to buy and sell different products. Some of this is related to their hobbies whilst some is related to the very goods for sale in this store.
