About Me
While I didn’t always plan on becoming an Orange County interior designer, my passion for design began early, when watching my grandfather at his drafting table. He was a structural engineer who played a pivotal role in shaping Vancouver’s skyline. Those hours spent observing him drafting high-rises had a profound influence on my design sensibilities. Even as a kid, I would meticulously construct detailed forts and scale-model bases for my GI Joes. I was always sketching something, painting something, or creating something. Art and design became second nature.
Initially, architecture seemed like my destined path. I enrolled in college with that intention, where I learned a great deal that would later help me as an interior designer in Orange County. At the same time, I earned my real estate license. Juggling both worlds deepened my understanding of the hidden potential of spaces. My eclectic road to becoming a personal interior designer didn’t end there, as I also pursued filmmaking in Hollywood. Yet, design stayed firmly rooted in my life. Throughout my time in Hollywood, I frequently bought, remodeled, and sold properties, sharpening my intuitive sense for interiors that I’d put to use as a residential interior designer. Eventually, the call back to formal design became irresistible. I earned a degree from Otis College of Art and Design and landed at 5blox as an Orange County interior designer.
My design approach? It’s highly personalized. I always start by asking, “Why?” Why does your current space feel inadequate? Maybe it’s just time for a style update, maybe your needs have evolved, or maybe you feel like your space just doesn’t express you. As a personal interior designer, I’ve learned that every project tells a unique story. By connecting with you personally, I can better grasp your background, needs, and character – and help accentuate every eclectic aspect of your story in the design process. As your residential interior designer, every detail matters, and every choice carries meaning.
