wait- exactly how many?
Jul. 1st, 2026 10:05 amthis year i wanted to read a book per month, because i thought my brain would remain broken after the postpartum crash, and oh my that table HAS taken some turns!
my goal has been expanding further and further. first it went from 12 to 25, then from 25 to 50, and i believe it was on may that i went beyond the 50 books mark that i said you know what? fuck it. let's up it to a hundred. so i did.
last year i read around 100 books, i don't recall correctly if more or less, and i remember i posted a story that 2026 was gonna be a different one because i really expected not to have time to read while mothering and stuff like that- but then this happened! (as of june 30th, which is half of the year).

i've been reading whatever comes my way. that quantity (64) contains TWO specific volumes of manga that i'm not sure if they should be accounted for (debating myself if they count as books or not- i'm leaning towards *yes*), but hey! the rest are pretty much books so what gives!
the numbers, crunched by month, look like this:
january - 3 books
february - 5 books
march - 10 books
april - 14 books
may - 14 books
june - 18 books
it's pretty insane, to be honest.
( so here's a list of books i want to read on july, if possible: )
[edit] i'm done tagging. i remember i had a system for all the books i'm reading and tracking but oh i don't think i have the time to do that anymore. i was very interested in knowing how many books i read in spanish and how many i read in english, but again, what gives!! (i was just talking about this to my therapist: how many things make no sense to me anymore and i'm dropping them along the way without zero guilt. i'm focusing on enjoying and documenting rather than explaining and keeping track of every detail. i don't think i care about that for now. maybe later i'll come back to it? i don't know)
i decided the entries where i do booktalking are going to be unlocked for the time being :) see if i'm willing to share thoughts of the books i'm reading and not be scared of having an opinion out loud. i'm only brave enough to do this on close friends on insta lmao. but i'd love to write about the books i read from time to time. hell, i even thought of annotating on my books, be it digitally or with pen and paper and all that, but i keep forgetting to write down things... i just stare into the abyss, sleep the thoughts away, babble about them with friends or the hubs, and that's it 👹. maybe... later. i need to work and psyche myself on accepting that my opinions, although wrong or right, are valid - now that's a topic for later on (in a locked entry ofc).
