Summer, like most Borogravian seasons, is fraught with thunder storms. Night rains turn the roads to mire long before the sun rises, and sudden, mid-day downpours that fall fast as the clouds burst against the mountains.
This is one of the latter. Despite the sunlight breaking through the purple clouds, the rain is falling in heavy sheets. Trampling meadow flowers and making the waters of a swimming-hole dance in the deluge. Under the shelter of a great willow, two soldiers are waiting out the rain, passing the time with teasing touches and soft kisses, until the sun comes out again.
