| 8800b-dm Mainframe | The 8800b-dm and 8800b-sm are versions of the Altair about which little is known, I've been told the were made for Foleys Department Store. These macnines are really nice, They are made out of an 8800b Turnkey. The 18-slot backplane was replaced with the 10-slot version from the Attache, to make room for 5.25-inch floppy diskette drives. The drives are full-height. The 8800b-dm has two drives. The two-board MITS floppy disk controller was modified from 32 hard-sector operation to 16-hard sector. |
