workless people, rioting, and social disorder.
Data from the Office of National Statistics show that 10 per cent of the Shropshire Council's area's households were
workless last year, lower than the UK-wide average of 14 per cent.
Some 19 per cent of households in the Black Country were
workless last year, above the national average of 14 per cent.
That means 19.2% of all households with children in Liverpool are classed as "
workless".

LATEST figures from the Office for National Statistics reveal that around 129,500 children across the country are in a "
workless" household - with the highest rates recorded in two South Wales counties.
A Government spokesperson said: "This Christmas there are fewer children living in
workless households than ever before, more people in work than ever before and one million fewer people living in absolute poverty.
This is known as being in a "longterm
workless" household.
Divide and rule is an evil tactic, regrettably too often successful, keeping wages down and justifying slashed benefits for all by turning the majority poor in employment against the minority poor
workless. Unity is the answer when poverty is on the rise again under the Conservatives as 14 million desperate souls - eight million of working age, four million children plus nearly two million pensioners - are ground down.
Official figures showed that 9.3% of children are in long-term "
workless" households - longer than a year out of a job - the first time in at least a decade that the figure has fallen below 10%.
Around 3.3 million households were classed as
workless between April and June this year, compared with 3.9 million in the same period in 1996, reported the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
