Representatives communicate to staff and act as a conduit providing their feedback and insights on university issues. Staff Council initiates policy proposals/revisions, and raises issues for university consideration.

You are invited to Staff Appreciation Day & Community Picnic on May 12, 2025. 11:30 am - 2:00 pm at the Gene Polisseni Center. Come and celebrate all of the accomplishments of our RIT staff community with some time away from the office, including a BBQ Buffet (vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options). Staff Appreciation Day & Community Picnic May 12th!

Staff Council is partnering with the RIT FoodShare once again to enhance the amount of high need items* that are distributed to those in need. If you can, please consider bringing at least one (1) non-perishable food item to the Staff Appreciation Picnic and help fill our collection boxes! 

Enjoy a Delicious Barbecue Spread by RIT Catering!

  • BBQ Buffet to include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options
  • Ice Cream Novelties

Activities

  • Paws for Hearts, provided by RocDog (Yes, there will be leashed dogs with professional handlers in attendance)
  • Yard Games: Bean Bag Toss, Kan Jam, Ladder Ball
  • Music
  • The Bob Howie Memorial Car Display (weather dependent)

Special Note: The RIT Campus Store will be offering staff special discounts on the day of the picnic!

*High-need items for RIT FoodShare: cereal, pasta & pasta sauce, rice, peanut butter, jelly, tuna fish, canned beans, gluten-free & vegan food items, ingredients and condiments. Additional considerations; seafood soups (not ramen), macaroni & cheese, oatmeal.
