Formula:
(Th,Fe,Ca,REE)(PO4,SiO4,CO3) · 0.5H2O
Originally reported as Fe+2Th(PO4)2•H2O
Colour:
White to yellow with green or red-orange tinge
Crystal System:
Hexagonal
One of four potentially new species from Markocice, Bogatynia area (Łużyce granitoids), Poland, reported as "Mineral U-2". Composition of all 4 phases (analyzed by EPMA, DTA, TGA, XRD and IR) is variable and it is unsure how it was deduced from the analyses. Associates with thorite, so-called thorogummite, 'UM1979-07-PO:CaFeHREESiTh', 'UM1979-09-PO:FeH', 'UM1979-10-PO:FeHREETh', and 'UM1980-04-PO:CaHREETh'.
Related to brockite, but with Th > Ca (thus maybe identical with grayite?). Also related to rhabdophane. Possibly the Si-enriched Th analogue of brockite (but water amount differs).
