"Who controls the media?"

The IfM has been working on this overarching issue since 2007. The media database mediadb.eu serves as an internationally established research tool and provides information on the position of the German media and communications industry in an international context, concentration movements, new technological trends and regulatory models in Germany and abroad.

What makes mediadb.eu special is its ambitious goal of making the media landscapes of all 27 EU member states and beyond accessible not only to academics but also to a broader, interested public. Furthermore, the database offers an annually updated, unique ranking of the world's largest media corporations and one of the world's largest public broadcasting systems.
