Slipstream...or my evening in London

Well tonight I did a totally mad thing and made my way to London after work for the World Premiere of Slipstream. No, no celebrities were attending, well unless you consider Jules, Jo and myself celebrities *G* I arrived around 7.15 pm in Leicester Square where we had pizza and wine (which had been cordoned off and had sniffer dogs all over it when we left the pizza place)before making our way to the Curzon Cinema on Shaftesbury Avenue...

Saw propluskid outside the cinema to our surprise (what were you doing there Emma???:D) and then fought our way past the miriads of press to the bar for a Guinness, Sol and Bacardi! We got our fliers/posters etc and watched some cool scifi geeks arriving, before making our way inside to our seats:)

Before the film started a few goodies were thrown into the crowd...Jules got a very cool Star Trek pen. And we were told the writer/director was there (with baby) and would be in the bar mingling afterward...dagnabit, we had no time to mingle with him afterwards as train, coach and bus beckoned! Anyway onward to the film...

The film was based around 3 people, Sarah an FBI agent (Ivana Milicevic), Stuart a scientist (Sean) and Winston a bank robber (Vinnie Jones) and their meetings with each other, as well as the little thing about time travel (the time travel was limited to a 10 minute jump into the past). Many things happen during the course of the film, some very sad and some hilarious...Sarah's character was probably the most boring, but she was essential to the plot, Stuart was at times endearing, at times annoying, geeky and funny, Winston was great...Vinnie's normal hilarious bad ass! The special effects were great...reminded me of The Dead Zone, and the travel was at times Quantum Leapish. That is all I am gonna say, I don't wanna spoil it, but this is a must for my dvd collection!
I loved the film...but I will leave everyone to make their own minds up, as not all in our party enjoyed it so much *G*, but if you like time travel and a bit of good British humour thrown in, you should enjoy this! IMO:)

I then had to rush off to catch the midnight coach back to Coventry...and here it is 2.45 am and I have written my review *G*
