Gitlax̱t’aamiks Village Government in New Aiyansh is a Nisg̱a’a community that consists of 1,900+ members governed by eight elected officials. The elected officials who represent New Aiyansh consist of one Chief Councillor and seven Councillors. GVG is operated by both the New Aiyansh Village Charter and the Nisg̱a’a Nation Laws. GVG is responsible to oversee the operation of various departments including administration, finance, human resources, community relations, communications, programs and services, education and public works that ensures the delivery of extensive service to the community.
