This thread is to request advice or votes on remove release requests.

Please do not remove releases unless you are 100% sure it is not valid for the database.

In order for a release to be eligible for removal, it should be non-existent, so badly entered as to be unable to be identified as a unique release, or a duplicate.

Because he/she is selling the item, it is probably not added to the collection list.

This release here, Barbara Norris - Heavy Hitter, added four years ago, got the wrong pictures, two years ago. Due to this, it was tranformed in another version, with just United Performers as label and a different B-Side.

In the meantime, this release Barbara Norris - Heavy Hitter was subbed with the "correct" pictures of the above release.

We have cleared the situation and reverted the first release (Barbara Norris - Heavy Hitter) to what it was four years ago, added a new release with just one label, Barbara Norris - Heavy Hitter and a different B-Side.

Labelowner seems to think that because the label has changed distributor and no longer has these release for sale or distribution, that they should no longer be documented in discogs. Or something.

Either way, please stop him. Apart from anything I spent ages fixing all the errors in this dickhead's submissions and ill be damned if by way of gratitude he takes most of them down

as i said in the removal request, the original submission was fully based on speculation. The first argument for the submission was the lack of a catalogue number, which the submitter found strange. Second argument was that the submitter couldnt believe the original copies didnt sell out.

1. the orginal vinyl is exactly the same as the cllaimed reissue, so yes there is NO catalogue nr. to be found on the vinyl.
2. this was a self release and the sleeveless overstock was sold by the original artists. There are many examples of artists that are selling their sleeveless overstock, i already named two examples in the request.
3. the (wife of) the original artist has confirmed there is no such thing as a reissue. The link mentioned by the submitter (where he bought his copy) is the link to a shop run by the wife of one of the members of the band

Furthermore i found it astonishing that a submission gets approved on such debatable hypothetical grounds in the first place!

SO, if the original pressing is limited to 1000 copies, and there are more than 1000 copies pressed, and the excess are released in a generic sleeve - is it not important to denote this with separate versions...?

I would suggest removing Repress (especially as there is no evidence anywhere that this is true) and note that these are excess copies released in a generic sleeve, outside of the limited 1000 copies pressed with picture sleeves...

An interesting one...

Quite a while ago now a consensus was reached that The Entity (2) - Pink Bits was a duplicate of The Entity (2) - Carbon Based Energy.

Other users have previously indicated that the catalog number AQUA 22 was partially scratched out and changed into AQUA 21, causing the confusion of this release being submitted twice under two different catalog numbers.

Unfortunately the submitter and owners of the duplicate are now inactive on Discogs it appears.

Any comments and assistance on the below removal will be much appreciated!
