Elected and appointed Sangguniang Kabataan Officials (SKOs) in good standing are now entitled to civil service eligibility, provided they have completed a full three-year term of office or its equivalent.

Under Civil Service Commission (CSC) Resolution No. 2500752, or the Rules Governing the Grant of Eligibility to SKOs promulgated on 24 July 2025, the Sangguniang Kabataan Official Eligibility (SKOE) shall be considered appropriate for first level positions in the career service, except those covered by board laws and/or requiring other special eligibilities.

“This privilege, granted exclusively to duly elected and appointed SKOs, recognizes the vital role of the youth in nation-building and affirms their contributions to public service,” said CSC Chairperson Atty. Marilyn B. Yap. “Through the SKOE, we empower young leaders to pursue careers in government and continue their service to the Filipino people.”

Government leaders and human resource (HR) practitioners from across the country are set to gather at the 2025 Leaders & Human Resource Symposium (LHRS) on 24–25 September at the SMX Convention Center in Clark, Pampanga.

Organized by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) through its training arm, the Civil Service Institute (CSI), the symposium is one of the highlights of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), carrying the theme “LEAD 125: Shaping the Future Together.”

From Luzon, Visayas, to Mindanao—the 2025 Fun Run was a nationwide success recording more than 40,000 participants joining the activity held simultaneously across the country on 7 September 2025. 

Organized by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) through its regional offices, the fun run served as the nationwide kick-off activity of the month-long celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).

CSC Chairperson Marilyn B. Yap, together with CSC Commissioners Ryan Alvin Acosta and Luis Meinrado Pangulayan, led the fundraising activity that aimed to foster camaraderie and promote the physical and mental well-being of government workers while honoring fallen servant-heroes.

Government officials and employees are encouraged to take part in the nationwide bloodletting drive scheduled on various dates this September 2025, one of the highlight activities to celebrate the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).

Spearheaded by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in partnership with the Department of Health–Philippine Blood Center and Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium, with the support of local government units nationwide, the initiative aims to boost the supply of blood in local hospitals and medical centers, while fostering a culture of volunteerism among public servants.

The Philippine Civil Service Modernization Project (PCSMP) was formally launched 3 September 2025 at the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Central Office in Quezon City, marking a milestone reform initiative that will drive the digital transformation of the bureaucracy.

The project seeks to harness digital tools and platforms to streamline and automate human resource (HR), ultimately improving the delivery of public services.

Led by the CSC as the lead executing agency and with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) as co-lead, the project is supported by the World Bank through Official Development Assistance. It focuses on modernizing the Human Resource Management and Payroll System to strengthen efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in government operations.
