Control can refer to any of the following:

1. In general, control refers to the ability to manage, organize, or run something on a computer. When working with a computer a user controls the computer using input devices, such as a keyboard, mouse, joystick, and gamepads. For example, you can control the mouse pointer on the screen by moving the mouse.

2. Keyboard key that is abbreviated as Ctrl on PC's or control on Apple computers. See the Ctrl key definition for further information about this key and its related keyboard shortcuts. The caret (^) is also sometimes called Control because of its use of describing a control character or key combination. For example, "^C" is a short way of saying Ctrl+C.

3. Windows command line command, see the control command page for additional information on this command.
