Sixteen of these volumes are newly digitized as part of the Office's ongoing project, in
partnership with the University of Wisconsin Digital Collections Center, to digitize the
entire Foreign Relations series. They cover events that took place in 1919 and were
originally published in print between 1934 and 1947. This quarterly release also includes
the new publication Foreign Relations, Iran, 1951–1954.
This volume is part of a Foreign Relations subseries that documents the most
important foreign policy issues of the Jimmy Carter administration. The volume documents the
Carter administration's response to events in Central America that tested its policy of
stressing human rights and non-intervention in Latin America.
