In 2003, ISOOSI relocated to the USA and opened its' offices in Naples, Florida. Today, in 2012 - we have offices in Los Angeles and Naples, Florida and work with clients around the world in a variety of sectors. Over the years we have won numerous Addy awards and other awards and recognitions for our website work. We have won regional and national awards for our web design work and for web development work building web directories for the Naples and Fort Myers Chamber's of Commerce. My obsession with creating a super sized web directory started way way back in my research days at University of Manchester Instiute of Science & Technology (UMIST - 1990 to 1995) with the collection and subsequent categorization of snippets of information, data, and links (mostly Usenet group type links at the time). While I was meant to be bombarding piezoelectric materials such as PZT with high-intensity synchrotron radiation at the SRS Beam in Daresbury, Cheshire - I was working on a pet project. While I was meant to be writing research results up for a paper on lithium ion displacemnt for strengthening of dental ceramics - I was working on my pet project. Yup, this was around 1992-1993, before the World Wide Web took this little blue planet by storm.... and although it sounds like thrilling research, I didnt fancy myself as a beard toting research scientist talking nuclear physics in the hallways of academia. Wasn't happening. My little side project started off in Fortran, which I later converted over into Perl. It was a directory of sorts. Not a web directory since the web hadn't emerged as yet. Just an informational catalog. My first database of helpful information and links was in an embryonic stage - but I soon became more passionate about it and the potential of working in what was soon to become the first flickers of the Internet. I guess this is why my Ph.D thesis still sits in a box in the garage to this day. Over the next few years I did what I could to progress my pet project - but with the emergence of the Yahoo Directory, EINet and then Best of the Web I soon began to realize I didnt have the money or manpower to compete and so began to focus on making a living. Enter the 9 to 5 years... ugh. After getting married in 1999, my wife Kate and I soon emigrated to the Cayman Islands where ISOOSI (our fledgling web development company was soon born). I spent a little more time on the link directory project between 2000 and 2001, converting it over to an Access driven classic ASP web based system, but other than that I concentrated more on building systems that would be able to crawl the Internet and gather links and categorize them. As our web development agency grew so did our client base and our hosting services and our SEO services and.... you get the idea. With a new Director of Web Services (Jason Farrington) in place in 2006 we started the wheels turning on the project again. Our crawler and categorizer had been busy all the while, but we just needed a new foundation to house the data. So, our .NET guys got to work... Speed forward to 2012 and our database of links and URLs that we have crawled and reviewed now approaches the 11 million mark. Our plan is to migrate the ISOOSI Web Directory to a new home this summer. This website which is for ISOOSI, LLC (our web services agency) - will be redesigned in the coming few months. It will then be moved to www.isoosi.net - it's orginal home. We have lots of new services and news to tell you about since it has been so long since we updated this website. We have been quietly building our team, our company and building significant growth and bottom line results for our clients. But we are taking these next few months to clean our own shop up and do some housework :) So, pardon out dust during the transition.Having built our own internet directory, this enabled us to utilize our software and technologies to help build specific business to business directories for organizations such as Building Industry Associations, Contractor Organizations and over twenty Chamber of Commerce's. ISOOSI's web development and mobile application development divisions are growing too. Now with offices in Simi Valley, Los Angeles and Naples, Florida - our team continues to work on exciting cutting edge projects with companies across the world. Our SEO division (formerly SEMANTRIX, LLC.) is proud to be working with an impressive stable of F100 and F500 clients in Financial Services, IT, Healthcare and Manufacturing sectors Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of our web directory and the upcoming launch date.
