@asktyagi, would you care to edit your post to include the actual test you used, and the relevant results? I don't see how ls asking for the extended attrs (or not) would be exactly related to the access control checks the system does.

I don't see lgetxattr and getxattr when I user root, probably you try on your system as result may be different based on protection application has been used.
