  • I waited until ext4lazyinit finished, and the disk file had ballooned to 28 GB. Then I shut down the VM, zerofree'd the disk image, rebased it and copied to it a new file that's only 4.5 GB (102 MB bigger than the original). Sure seems like an awfully convoluted procedure.
