  • Thanks, this cleared (most) things up and I'm able to use the complete disk space now. Before I ran all the commands, I noticed that PVS listed a PFree of 11.17g. After the lvextend it was a PFree of 0. These sizes were also displayed in GParted for /dev/sda5. Does this mean that by default Debian is not using the PV to its maximum? • There's nothing specific to Debian here. It's the same for any Linux using LVM2. As for the values you tell about, I'm a bit surprised by them. As long as PSize is (a bit less than) equal to the size of the sda5 partition, and root LV minus the swap size as well, then you're using all you can use. Commented Mar 8, 2021 at 19:16
