  • Running this solved it: sudo apt install ffmpeg libavdevice58=7:4.1.6-1~deb10u1 libavcodec58=7:4.1.6-1~deb10u1 libavfilter7=7:4.1.6-1~deb10u1 libavformat58=7:4.1.6-1~deb10u1 libavresample4=7:4.1.6-1~deb10u1 libavutil56=7:4.1.6-1~deb10u1 libpostproc55=7:4.1.6-1~deb10u1 libswresample3=7:4.1.6-1~deb10u1 libswscale5=7:4.1.6-1~deb10u1 && sudo apt autoremove. Conversion with the ffmpeg of the main repos resulted in a smaller bitrate too so I'm switching back to the vers in Gello's repo. It's strange that downgrading to latest versions in ones repos requires specifying version numbers like that(?) Commented Feb 8, 2021 at 19:09
  • As far as I understand, apt upgrades a package without further inquiry. In your case the installed version 4.3.1 was newer than the requested version 4.1.6. By default apt does not care about the individual repos, just the most recent version it can acquire in any way. Commented Feb 8, 2021 at 21:11
