  • Note that the Bourne shell is not POSIX, [[...]] supports regexps only in some versions of some shells, just like some versions of [ do support regexp matching. For arithemtic comparison, in those shells that support [[, you'd rather write (( n == 0 && y == 0)) Commented Nov 25, 2012 at 22:04
