It is working but creating two columns of IDs and 3rd column with first file and 4th column again IDs then File2 and File3.Anjali Chaudhary– Anjali Chaudhary2020-01-02 16:02:59 +00:00Commented Jan 2, 2020 at 16:02

1) What do you mean saying "column"? There are 2 part of each line: "key " and "the rest", because if we count columns, the line "MYORGANISM_I_05140.t1 Atypical/PIKK/FRAP VALUES to be taken -NA-" has 7 columns? There is nothing specified about "columns" in the task.Yurko– Yurko2020-01-02 16:41:32 +00:00Commented Jan 2, 2020 at 16:41

2) I created your 3 files and executed the one line command specified above. I printed my output. Is your output different? Can you provide with more details?Yurko– Yurko2020-01-02 16:41:52 +00:00Commented Jan 2, 2020 at 16:41

It is working on these sample FILES but with my original file, it is not working. May be because my files are having tab delimiter.Anjali Chaudhary– Anjali Chaudhary2020-01-02 17:12:29 +00:00Commented Jan 2, 2020 at 17:12

I edited both: a) the single line command, 2) version with explanation. The code added is "|sed 's/\t/ /'", it should make files with tab separator working.Yurko– Yurko2020-01-02 17:30:58 +00:00Commented Jan 2, 2020 at 17:30

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. shell-script), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
