At this point, am not sure what "desktop environment" really means but, does all this mean they expect you, to use/install only one file manager in your linux system? Like if I chose XFCE and have Thuanar pre-installed, they don't expect me to install Nautilus or Dolphin?Asme Just– Asme Just2018-12-21 14:33:21 +00:00Commented Dec 21, 2018 at 14:33

1Xfce is one desktop environment (DE). Each DE has one file managers by default: Xfce - Thunar; GNOME - Nautilus; KDE - Dolphin; Cinnamon - Nemo; LXDE/LXQt - PCManFM, etc. User has choice to install one or more file managers, but sometimes that will break user experience (too much to explain here).user125388– user1253882018-12-21 14:58:36 +00:00Commented Dec 21, 2018 at 14:58

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. shell-script), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
