OK, so on those distros it contains some information. In any case, it's arbitrary text and thus not really useful to use in scripts... on Gentoo I have this for example: inux-4.19.86-gentoo-x86_64-Intel-R-_Core-TM-_i5-8259U_CPU_@_2.30GHz-with-glibc2.4
