is not fluent in Japanese, though she hopes to someday be fluent enough to start her own Japanese journal and participate in Japanese social networks. The amount of Japanese she has learned so far includes all of the hiragana with tentens and maru, some katakana, and some kanji. Her methods of learning Japanese include listening to Japanese music, watching anime, and using Rosetta Stone.
keitai
aims to self study for and pass the Japanese AP Exam in May 2011 and eventually become fluent enough to (maybe?) live and work in Japan. So far she is able to read kana in addition to around 200 kanji, as well as hold basic conversations and play video games aimed at children. She enjoys using Kodansha’s line of reference books and making overly highlighted flashcards to aid her study.
