I really hate that I'm saying goodbye again, but when I failed to participate in a plot I was really excited to see I realized it was time. And still I put it off.

I never thought I would have to do this and it's probably one of the most difficult drops I've made since I started RPing on Dreamwidth, but it's come to the point where I'm going to have to bow out of TF.

I've been here for a long time (two years!) and I've loved every minute, all the CR I've had and the people I've met through this game, but I think I've played my characters out as much as I can here... and now it's time for me to go. Only playing for the sake of making activity isn't a situation I want to land myself in - TF deserves better than that.

I'm so sorry to everyone I'm leaving behind here. Maybe one day I'll head back in with someone fresh, but for now... See you later, alligators.

Due to recent drops and a general lack of overall activity, April is declared an Activity Check Amnesty month! You do not need to report AC for April. If you did make activity for April, never fear- AC for this month will now count towards May. You can report it next month as May AC or in combination with May AC. Activity will be held as usual in May.

In light of the inactivity, and other more active games' rules, we have tweaked our AC rules to reflect a slight change. AC will now only require TWO (2) 10+ comment threads, rather than the previous three (3). Hopefully this will help with people hoping to make AC through comments.

Hello there! Welcome to the world of pokémon! My name is Dinkerton! People call me the Pokémon Professor! This world is inhabited by creatures called pokémon! For some people, pokémon are pets. Others use them for fights. Myself... I study pokémon as a profession.


Good morning trainers! May has become PokéMay, and characters will wake up May 1st in the world of Pokémon, right here on your own island of New Moore.

What does this mean for your characters? Well, for one you get your own Pokémon team. You can have as many or as few, so feel free to go through the several gens to find the ones that best fit your characters. Mix and match is okay. In addition, previously “off-limits” spots like the volcano and the forests, as well as the beaches and caves, will be accessible and littered with pokémon to catch and interact with. New Moore has all gens of pokémon scattered around, making a whopping number of pokémon needed to complete the Pokédex, if you feel inclined to catch em all. Is that even possible in one week? Maybe if you could move that truck, you could get Mew…

For those of you who think your character is more than your average trainer, we have openings for six gym leaders, on first come, first serve basis. These guys can be challenged by other players to obtain badges to become a Pokémon master. Again gym spots are on a first come basis and one gym leader per player. What gym you want to represent is up to you as well.

GYM LEADERS: John Egbert (Flying), Carol Danvers (Dragon), Elsa (Ice), Lin Bei Fong (Steel), Hans (Dark), Lydia Martin(Psychic)

There is more to life than just trainers, of course. There are a wide array of roles you can play in our poké-economy. There a pokémon scientists, breeders, and doctors (Nurse Joy anyone?) There are shops that cater to trainer needs and pokémon well-being and grooming, as well as models! Finally, of course, there are grunts within Team Rocket, attempting to cause chaos and successfully or unsuccessfully steal pokémon. There are other “teams” as well, like Plasma or Flare, so sign up for the ineffectual terrorist group of your choice. Feel free to give yourself any poké-role in the pokéworld- no I will not stop adding “Poké” to all words.

As usual, characters can be unaffected by the plot, meaning they will be without pokémon (at the beginning of the plot) and extremely confused why that kid in shorts keeps screaming at them to battle.

Sadly, next Friday morning, May 9th, your characters will wake up without their team of pokémon. However, there have always been herds of pikachus wandering around, so it’s possible you may find some residual monsters throughout the island in the future.

Plot in this post about your prospective pokémon team, your character type, and any other planning needs you guys might have. Also go ahead and ask questions or leave comments! We are trying for longer plots, less often in these next two months, so bear with us while we work out the kinks, and let us know your feedback!

SOMETHING BLUE

WHAT: Offhand remarks become realities.
WHEN: Saturday, April 12 - Monday, April 14
WHY: You were taking things too literally anyway.

You’re all pretty dramatic, you’re pretending to be fictional characters on the internet after all. So we all might be guilty of some hyperbole once and a while, making grand statements of observations that aren’t 100% on the mark. But nobody actually takes it literally when you say someone “never sees anything” and assumes that person is blind.

Okay , but for this event it totally will be true. Starting Saturday, any offhand remark characters make, from hyperbole to wishes to judgement calls- will suddenly become true. Which means if you accuse someone of “never seeing anything,” that person will find himself becoming blind. It might take a little while, vision blurring over time, but your overreaction will become fact. Someone says you eat like a cow? Is it just me or does grass seem mighty tasty.

To keep things from going haywire, super big statements won’t work- assume you you make an observation the sky is falling and it doesn’t, someone else at the exact moment made a counter statement. Likewise in the dubious logical answer, you can’t change the framework of the game. So if your character is super sly and realizes what’s happening, you can’t wish to have your friends back on the island, or to be home, or anything that would otherwise destroy the foundation of the game. Yes, the foundation is you’re trapped on an island without your buddies- It only took 4 and ½ years for us to come to this.

As usual, people can be unaffected from having their statement come true. So while Karkat’s wild metaphors can spontaneously be real, unaffected!Eridan’s remarks that he’s a literal babe magnet will never be real. I mean, that last one isn’t even hyperbole that’s just a lie.

On Tuesday, your special statement granting powers will be gone. Any effects they had on your character or others will be magically erased, although you might still have a venue booked for that impromptu wedding someone scheduled.

Since some of your wishes may affect other characters and their wishes affect yours, plan out some hijinks here in this post! Or just give people fair warning what you’re going to pull. Feel free to ask any questions or leave any comments here as well!
