Secret admirer [HaeHyuk]

Summary: Hyukjae finally admits that he secretly admires Donghae, his good friend a.k.a Sora noona's boyfriend. However, when Donghae leaves Korea for work and Minho comes along and confesses to Hyukjae. Hyukjae decides to move on and accept Minho, so everything seems too late for Donghae even when he is finally back.
A/N: fail English... It’s sort of a sad chapter for Hae. Poor Hae for losing his Hyukkie! :(
Chapter 5

“Thankyou.” I smile happily to the person in front of me, and he walks off to get my favourite strawberry milkshake for me.
It is a nice Wednesday afternoon in the café with Minho and Sungmin.
“Tsk. Tsk.” Sungmin, who is sitting next to me, hisses just after Minho has walked off, “Don’t tell me you are in love with him.”
I am quite pissed with what Sungmin has been saying.
Minho and I are official for like only 4 days. And all I hear from everyone around me, basically my sis and my best mate, is like how incompatible we look or how blunted I seem in front of him.

This all happens on Sunday, the next day after the party.
Sungmin’s non-stop phone calls wake me up from my wonderful dreamland!
I am still half asleep, “what?”
“Where have you been last night?” He sounds like someone has actually got murdered or something. “Man! I am almost scared to death, just because you went missing suddenly.”
“That’s because Minho took me home.” I am still rolling on my bed comfortably, ready to head back to sleep right away.
“Minho? Who is… Oh, the one who is always looking at you?”
“Uh... yes…”
“Why did he walk you back home?!”
And before I can reply that long clumsy story to him, I fall back to sleep.
Next thing I know, I get dragged up harshly from my bed all in a sudden!
“YAHH?!!” I sit up angrily. I have never slept so well, and now you, you, you pumpkin-headed bunny wakes me up!!!
“Are you officially with Minho now?!” Minnie asks.
“How did you know that?”
“Your sis told me just now. I was actually so shocked when I heard the news. I mean, do you even know that guy?!”
I silent a while, thinking a way to get this through.
Honestly, I know nothing about him.
The reasons I accepted him last night are probably because either, (1) I’m half-drunk by his alcoholic breaths, (2) I get kissed by him and this means I have to be with him, and (3) I use him, horribly, to forget this person who have been haunting me the past 2 weeks.
“I don’t, but I will get to.” I avoid Minnie’s glare and startle, and I am sure Sungmin notices that.
“Gosh!” He starts getting furious, “I will be happy for you if you are really in love, but you are obviously not now!”
Why is he saying the exact same thing as sis said last night?!
I feel noona must have said something to Sungmin, so I argue, “Can you stop listening to Sora noona?”
“No! your noona didn’t say anything personal about Minho.” He stares at me, “I can read you, Hyukkie! Whenever I talk about Donghae, you turn crazily flushed. You know what I see when we are talking about Minho? Nothing.”

Why?!
Why can’t people just accept the fact that I have a boyfriend now? I just want to be loved! And Minho is here for me!
And even more importantly, I do feel extra relaxed when I am with him!
Sungmin stops babbling as soon as Minho comes back. Minnie bids us goodbye, because he has to pick Jessica up from her class.
Minho pecks my cheek which is heated up as soon as he touches it, “What were you guys talking about?”
“… Nothing much really…”
He holds my hand firmly in his warm palm, seemingly telling me that I can choose not to talk if I don’t want to.
I smile to myself. It is so comfortable to be with him.
We sat there in silence.
I look out at the window just to see a bright sun shining up above, happily celebrating the warm spring. The sun always makes me feel good. It brushes all my sadness and annoyance away.
I let my breath fog up the glass and I draw a smiley face on it.
Minho raises his hand and draws a heart shape circling my smiley face.
I look up in confusion. He shows his gentle smile and says, “You…” pointing at the smiley face, “have filled my heart up, and I will wrap you up with all my love.”
I blushed hard, “Whatever!!”
Noticing my tinted cheek, he leans over and gives me another kiss on my cheek.
That’s simply cheesy.
I don’t quite understand myself. I really enjoy it, but at the same time, I kind of feel a little strange when he does this.
He walks me back home along the river bank by sunset, just like the first day I hanged out with Donghae.
... when Donghae put me into his embrace from behind, when Donghae whispered soothingly into my ears, when Donghae kisses me on my cheek.
Sigh.
I just cannot shrug him off my mind.
We finally arrive in front of my house.
“Hyukjae-ah, I know you still feel a bit weird for our love.”
“It’s not –”
He cuts me off, “it’s okay, you don’t have to deny it. I sometimes feel the same too, but I am willing to stay by your side until the day comes.”
Sweet words don’t necessarily have to be cheesy. This simple sentence touches me.
I pull myself into his embrace, “Thankyou. That's the sweetest thing I have ever heard.” Three typical words should come right after this, but I turn speechless just as they are about to come out of my mouth, .
“Really?” he says proudly in amusement, “I will say that everyday then!”
I smack his head lightly, "Stupid!!"
He leans forward slowly.
As our lips are about to meet, I close my eyes and wait for his tiny peck on my lips.
But nothing happens.
I open my eyes blankly, and the scene in front of me really jolts me!!
Minho is lying on the floor, covering with his palm the corner of his mouth which is slightly bleeding.
And the person with the back facing me has obviously just hit Minho. He is no other but the long-gone-missing Lee Donghae!!
Why the heck did he beat Minho up?!!
I rush forward and help Minho up.
“Come in with me,” I speak gently to Minho. “I am sure there is some medicine at home for you.”
Lee Donghae grips my wrist, trying to stop me. "Hyukkie..."
I feel sad as well when I see his depressed and helpless puppy eyes, but my anger lies far beyond that.
He leaves without a word, and now, just as I am about to move on with my new life, he comes back and haunts me! Why can’t he just stick to his plan if he has decided to stay away from me?!
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” I shouted with a violent glare.
I just want to tell him I am not a person he can toy with anytime he likes and throw away when he doesn’t!

Donghae is back!!
But I guess everything is too late for him. Still not sure why Donghae has gone missing without a word for such a long time? I think you will soon know in Hae’s side of the story – secretly admire.
