Serennians were a cultural group of humans native to the planet Serenno. Serennian nobility could be identified by the wearing of a Serennian cloak, such as the ones worn by Count Dooku and Duke Solha and his siblings, a symbol of their status. Serennian custom permitted a condemned prisoner one last request. While Solha was proud of Serenno's membership within the Confederacy of Independent Systems, heralding the world as part of a free star system,[1] Dooku exploited his own people during the Clone Wars, creating internal strife on his homeworld.[2] All the same, Serenno remained a major Separatist planet throughout the Clone Wars, in large part because of its status as Dooku's birthplace[3] and base-of-operations. Some Serennians, such as Romar Adell, fled into Serenno's forests to escape Imperial occupation.[4]
