    This will wipe out the whole array if the value isn't in there, so a searchValue = 4 will return a blank array. Commented Aug 9, 2015 at 1:59

    I have copied the code into jsfiddle, changed searchValue to 4, ran the code, no problem detected. All values were still present.@JulianK Commented Feb 18, 2017 at 18:56
