I am new to java programming and I am trying to start learning on a Mac. One of the things I needed was to install Java 1.7, which I did successfully, but when I do java -version, it still shows version 1.6. HowHow can you change the default version of Java on a mac?

I've been looking for an answer for the past 3 hours and I have tried everything I was able to find on How can you change the Internet, and I am running outdefault version of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

update: Also tried to install Java for OS X 2013-005 but that didn't work. What else can I try?
