    No, the docs indicate it returns FALSE if there's an error, not if the path returned no results. Commented Mar 14, 2017 at 15:24
  • Tested this, @Brian is correct, it will only return false when an error occurs. Do not use this check, it will always return a (empty) node. Commented Dec 20, 2018 at 12:46
