I did a make check and it takes several days to finish,
could you make something about it to reduce the time it
takes ?

at first I thought "no, they are that long for a reason."
but actually maybe it would be good to split them up into a
smoke test and a thorough test.

ok, I added a --disable-thorough-tests to configure, will
be in the next release.
