If the users are currently ignoring the OneDrive default notifications on file/folder path length, they would as well ignore the new notification that you're looking for. Better educate the users as the restrictions vary how OneDrive is used. See MS Support Link on OneDriveMatiur Rahman– Matiur Rahman2024-06-10 12:15:27 +00:00Commented Jun 10, 2024 at 12:15

You could potentially run Power Automate Flow and check each file path length, and if it exceeds the limit, move the file towards the root folder, or rename it to shorten the folder/file name. There are plenty examples online as to how you could work with OneDrive in Power AutomateMatiur Rahman– Matiur Rahman2024-06-11 12:40:54 +00:00Commented Jun 11, 2024 at 12:40

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. sharepoint-online), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
