Welcome to the community. If I understand correctly the first question is simply manipulation within the frontend, which is normal (please correct me if I'm wrong)Sir Muffington– Sir Muffington2024-08-06 09:39:10 +00:00Commented Aug 6, 2024 at 9:39

2while frontend validations are nice to have, they do not replace the need for backend validations. (So for number of characters, make backend validate that as well and respond back when it fails... same goes for any disallowed characters.)browsermator– browsermator2024-08-06 20:03:33 +00:00Commented Aug 6, 2024 at 20:03

Welcome! I edited your question adding a few backticks to make the actual code visible (as Stack Exchange is doing some filtering to avoid these kinds of vulnerabilities). Feel free to edit again.Paŭlo Ebermann– Paŭlo Ebermann2024-08-06 23:35:31 +00:00Commented Aug 6, 2024 at 23:35

@Sir Muffington Thank you, it's great to be here. You are correct; the issue is indeed related to frontend manipulation. My concern is that users can insert very long strings, payloads, or other potentially harmful input into the input field, which will be stored in the database.Colby Cotton– Colby Cotton2024-08-07 06:54:26 +00:00Commented Aug 7, 2024 at 6:54

@browsermator Thank you for the advice. I'll be doing some research on how to properly implement these validations.Colby Cotton– Colby Cotton2024-08-07 06:58:56 +00:00Commented Aug 7, 2024 at 6:58

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. web-application), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
