For parent-child views, possible solutions for your specific parent-child case are a lot more simple than cases where one want to implement independent views on the same data, with independent life times (maybe a textual and a also graphical display) I recommend to rewrite this question to focus on parent-child views, since the answers only deal with this simpler case.
