It's somewhat old (2004), but covers exactly this subject - how to work with "legacy" (not properly covered with test, no CI/CD) code, which eventually includes refactoring. There are new books (i.e. "Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code (2nd Edition) (Addison-Wesley Signature Series (Fowler))" on the subject - consider picking one and reading about general approaches. | |
